About Alexandru Coras

Real estate and construction law are at the core of my practice. I advise international and local investors on the acquisition, development, financing, and asset management of commercial, industrial, and residential properties, with a strong understanding of investment drivers and project economics. My background in banking and finance allows me to structure transactions end-to-end, from term sheet to closing, in a way that aligns legal risk with capital at stake. I previously worked in a leading Magic Circle-associated law firm and in a rapidly growing real estate investment fund acting as developer, investor, and operator. There, I led and coordinated high-complexity real estate projects: full-scope due diligence, property aggregation, challenging permitting and zoning situations, brownfield urban reconversions, industrial facility relocations, and the leasing and operation of major commercial assets, including shopping centres and residential schemes. In parallel, I contributed to the fund’s capital management and strategy, working closely with financial analysts and project managers to optimise capital structures, cash-flow, and exit scenarios. My time with the Magic Circle-associated firm gave me substantial experience in banking and finance: syndicated and bilateral facilities, real estate finance, refinancing and restructuring, security packages over complex asset pools, and regulatory aspects affecting lenders and borrowers. I am based in Bucharest, Romania, and act as a partner-level adviser to banks, real estate funds, developers, and high-net-worth investors across Romania and CEE. Alongside my legal practice, I am building technology-driven and finance-oriented ventures (including an AI-powered news platform and investment and immigration advisory initiatives).
