As a Director of Engineering at Cognizant, I lead comprehensive Engineering and Technology initiatives unde the group name Cloud & Backend, overseeing Java.NET, and DevOps staffing while driving strategic business development and enhancing our Employee Value Proposition across key technology communities. My role involves working closely with a team of highly dedicated Engineering managers, focusing on aligning technical strategies with business objectives to ensure optimal performance and growth. With over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, I have a deep technical background and a proven track record of managing large, cross-functional teams. I have successfully led a group of 400+ engineers across various domains, including Enterprise.NET, Java, Big Data & Analytics, DevOps, and 24/7 Support. My leadership is centered on coaching(pending accreditation/certification), mentoring, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous innovation. In my previous role as a Community Director, I was responsible for corporate strategic planning, talent management, staffing and retention strategies, and the long-term growth of multiple engineering communities. I managed P&L, operational KPIs, and collaborated closely with HR, Delivery, and other stakeholders to ensure high performance, motivation, and engagement within the team. I also played a critical role in ensuring revenue growth, operational efficiency, client profitability, and achieving EBITDA targets.
