About Alexia Retallack

I strive to be innovative, entrepreneurial, inspirational and inclusive in all public engagement and education efforts using a variety channels including video, audio and print mediums, the array of social media and public engagement. My recent work focuses upon decoding and deconstructing the complicated maze of the utility industry in California for public education and understanding as the market shifts from the traditional investor-owned utilities to community choice aggregation (locally owned and operated load serving entities). I navigate the world of regulation and legislation, analyzing polices, monitoring proceedings, and preparing briefs and comments. I distill complex concepts into digestible presentations for the public to raise awareness and empower ratepayers. I provide ratepayer supporter, customer service, and utility bill analysis. In my more than two decades of working on fish, wildlife and environmental issues, I developed recruitment awareness campaigns. I honed strong crisis communications skills responding to a tsunami, train wrecks, plane wrecks, oil spills, and wildlife attacks and hold Type II Incident Responder certification. My extensive experience includes years as a magazine editor, university instructor, writing coach, speech writer, and editor for authors of nonfiction, fiction, books and articles.
