About Alexis Boyle

I work with communities of all ages to create accessible educational programs. I like to use art as a tool to bring people together for shared conversations and hands on workshop reflections. I develop lasting core programs that open up access to museum collections, exhibitions and research. I work in partnership with staff and clients of local service organizations, academic institutions, schools, hospitals and libraries. I use a human-centered co-design approach to the work that I do in order to support meaningful and lasting relationships. I'm interested in programs that serve audiences well. Programs I work on make learning fun and are co-created with staff/experts who understand their communities needs and desires. I regularly write successful project grant applications and see these projects through from start to finish. I speak at conferences and share strategies for other people interested in building relationships with communities. I earned a BFA from Concordia University and an MFA from OCAD University. During my graduate studies, I held the Joseph Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship as well as the Fonds de recherche société et culture Scholarship. I am on the National Executive Committee of GAME (Gallery And Museum Engagement) 2018-25 and served as Co-Chair of the VAA/AAV (Visual Arts Alliance (2021-23). My artwork has appeared in solo and group exhibitions in Canada, New York, UK and Mexico and I've curated shows in Canada and the UK.
