About Alexis Brooks

Hello! My name is Alexis Brooks and I started my social work journey at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. While at ECU, I was able to attend a substance use disorders study abroad program in Paris and Amsterdam, serve as the BSW student liaison for the North Carolina Chapter of The National Association of Social Workers, and complete my BSW field placement at Pitt County DSS in the Adult Services unit. I graduated from ECU in May of 2020 with a BSW and a minor in Psychology. In May of 2021 I graduated from the advanced standing program at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an MSW and a certificate in Substance Use Disorders and Addictions. During my time at UNCW, I completed my MSW field placement at Coastal Horizons conducting comprehensive clinical assessments and co-facilitating SAIOP groups. My prior work experience has afforded me the opportunity to work in the mental health field helping youth and adults with various needs including crisis intervention and substance use counseling. Presently, I work as a Medical Social Worker at Amedisys Hospice and I am provisionally licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and fully licensed as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist.
