About Alexis Ely

I am a passionate and driven first-generation architecture student at the University of Florida, set to graduate in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design and a minor in Sustainability in the Built Environment. My academic focus has fueled my deep interest in sustainable architecture, mixed-use developments, and coastal resilience. With hands-on experience as an Architectural Intern at Sweetwater Homes, I collaborated with clients, refined my AutoCAD and drafting skills, and gained valuable insight into residential design. My ongoing research on housing relocation as a mitigation strategy for Florida’s coastal communities has further strengthened my commitment to innovative, sustainable solutions in architecture. Beyond academics, I serve as a UF Ambassador for the College of Design, Construction, and Planning, where I engage with prospective students and represent the program’s mission. I am also an active member of the University of Florida Wildlife Society, reinforcing my appreciation for ecological conservation in the built environment. I am currently seeking a summer internship in architecture before beginning my graduate studies in the fall. I am particularly interested in firms that focus on sustainable urban planning, mixed-use development, and coastal resilience.
