About Alexis Haynes

I graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2022 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology focused in Clinical Psychology, and minor in Human Development and Families Studies, along with a minor in Gender and Women's Studies. I am fascinated in studying mental health and its impacts on individuals day to day lives. I have taken many psychology courses on topics including: race, class and, sexuality, child and adolescent development, family and community health, and substance use disorders. I have worked as an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Rhode Island in the Psychology Department, studying social media and the impact on body image issues. I am currently working with adolescents struggling with mental health and substance use. I continue to actively work on broadening my knowledge and experience in the field in preparation for a Masters in Social Work.
