How does a fashion student become interested in medicine? For me, it started in a physical therapy setting. What began as casual conversations with patients turned into meaningful connections that changed how I saw healthcare and my future. The people I met weren’t just strangers; they became familiar faces I looked forward to seeing. After discovering my path to medicine, I went back to school and decided to actively pursue medical school, with the goal of entering a DO or DPM program. Growing up, I often felt intimidated by healthcare providers as they entered the room with an intense presence. I frequently felt overwhelmed, intimidated, and unheard. I decided to become part of the change that reshapes that narrative, becoming someone who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and a true listener. Learning about the critical shortage of physicians and care providers inspired me to pursue something bigger than myself: a lifelong commitment to making healthcare accessible and authentic.
