About Alexis Strathmann

I am a personable, loving, and enthusiastic international elementary school teacher who has worked in this field for 10+ years. I'm currently living and teaching first grade in Cartagena, Colombia, and I recently taught Kindergarten and First Grade for six years at the School of the Nations in Brasilia, Brazil. I strive to become a more confident educator and to raise the bar for my students while making learning playful, fun, and engaging. I take great pride in my sensitivity and ability to address individual student effectively needs across all populations of learners as well as contributing to the development of colleagues and the well-being of the school. I have a strong interest in purposeful classroom design and I work hard to create a dynamic learning environment that maximizes learning opportunities and minimizes disruptions, one in which students can learn to self-monitor their behavior. I love to use my vast array of travel experiences to learn about other people, cultures, and ways of life as well as to teach my students the importance of global citizenship. I am excited to embark on my next adventure!
