About Alexis Wright

I am a fourth-year medical student at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, and I am passionate about making a positive impact in healthcare and medical education for underrepresented communities. I am self-motivated, resilient, and empathetic, and education, service, and advocacy have been essential drivers for me to create change. As a student physician, my interpersonal skills, ability to be coached, and keen attention to detail have allowed me to build a strong rapport with my patients and excel as a healthcare provider. As a member of the student government, I have collaborated with the administration to improve the academic experience for students. Additionally, I have volunteered with the unhoused community in North Philadelphia to help them regain agency and access to necessary care. I have also partnered with a local high school to provide early exposure to medical careers. My ultimate goal is pursuing a career in General Surgery with a particular interest in investing in the next generation through medical education programs and community partnerships.
