Background
About Alfred Beadman
I have been lucky to be able to develop a broad range of skills and experiences, ranging from DNA analysis to hands-on treatment in London NHS trusts. I have supplemented this learning through continued professional development, from practicing high-altitude mountain medicine in the Cairngorms to London Zoo, where I manage pre-hospital patient care holistically as their first aider. I have been lucky to secure one of the two available yearly bursaries in the UK to join the RAF as a medic. The RAF has allowed me to progress through the flying syllabus in the Grob "tutor" aircraft and train in their human centrifuge. This new perspective on aerospace medicine from the eyes of a pilot has given me a newfound appreciation for the speciality and I have been able to grow relationships with specialists in the field. As a team leader, I understand the importance of making well-informed decisions and I have a keen interest in medical law (specifically tort and ADR) and finance. As Imperial Gliding Club's treasurer I have gained experience managing revenue streams and keeping the club financially healthy, reaching a record number of flights despite the cost of living crisis and budget cuts. I received an academic exhibition at Winchester College following perfect grades at A-level (physics, maths, biology, chemistry) and was awarded the Gail Gardner Mcneil Scholarship by Imperial College London. Outside of work, I relax by playing piano. I'm enjoying working through Rachmaninoff's six "musical moments". Rachmaninoff wrote the six pieces in a bid to make a quick buck following previous failures (and losing a large sum of money on a train). They were received very well by critics, and are definitely worth a listen. https://youtu.be/RI-m3Z3YhgY
