I have added to my experiences the constant adherance of rail safety and procedures to protect my life and the lives of my fellow rail workers. Experiencing the value of quality locomotive inspections and realizing the daily challenges that talented craftsmen surmount to keep the equipment running and deliver passengers safely. Have added the skill of recognizing indicators of possible mechanical failures and their repairs by asking questions of senior mechanics. I am now certified as a Qualified Maintenance Person (QMP) and am authorized to conduct daily exterior and interior mechanical inspections per rule 238 and to perform class one brake tests. Have been trained in the use of the wheel trueing machine to repair defects such as flat spots, shelling, and thin flanges on locomotive and passenger car wheels. Over 10 years as a prototype machinist in the technology industry. Extensive experience working hand in hand with scientists and engineers to manufacture solutions to unique hardware challenges. Skills include proficiency with CNC and manual machine shop equipment. Specialties: My expertise is maintaining and certifiying passenger locomotives as a qualified mechanical professional ( QMP ). My past experiences as an Experimental Machinist, Model Maker Machinist, Prototype Machinist, Research Machinist, Solidworks User, Unigraphics User with a familiarity of programming with Mastercam.
