About Alfredo Falcone

I am passionate about the design and construction of bridges, stadium roofs, and movable structures that push technical and architectural boundaries. My interest began during my Master of Architecture studies in a structures course, where I developed a movable bridge concept using two balancing arches — one lifting for navigational clearance and the other stationary for stability. That work, further developed with colleagues, predated the Gateshead Millennium Bridge competition announcement of the winning design by two months, affirming both the originality and feasibility of my design thinking. For 27 years at a leading architect of record firm, I’ve specialized in translating ambitious ideas into precise, buildable architecture, often collaborating with international design teams and mastering the coordination and detailing required for high-caliber projects. Alongside my professional career, I have continued to develop original concepts — some later echoed in built works by others, while some remain original, unbuilt ideas, highlighting a creative vision that remains ahead of the curve. I look forward to applying my blend of creative vision and technical delivery to the next generation of bridges, stadia roofs and movable structures — and welcome conversations with those leading such work.
