About Alfredo Quezada

Hi-I’m Alfredo, and I’m from Tijuana, B.C, and San Diego, CA. I grew up periodically on both sides of the border, so I have strong ties to both. I’m currently a 5th-year B.Arch. student at the University of Arizona College of Architecture.I’m interested in architecture that is honest to itself and its context. Whether materials are earth-bound or cold steel pre-fab beams, I find the industries and the freedom of use to be fascinating. From large-scale developments to small rooms in intimate homes, I find a great interest in the always-advancing profession and its beauty, as well as inspiration in being a part of the next generation of architects. In the future I see myself working on projects of various scales, and developing myself as a multi-disciplinary designer with a broad understanding of design, sustainability, art, and technology. Along with planning to work in both residential and commercial design, I also visualize myself managing real estate, developments, and property investments, using my architectural knowledge to my advantage. Throughout the next few years until I attain my license, I want to learn the rules of the profession and be able to design realistically and thoughtfully, truly impacting people’s daily lives. I want to further develop my understanding of technology, materiality, tolerances, and capabilities of materials and systems while broadening my understanding of architecture within social and theoretical perspectives.
