About Algirdas Orantas
With over 20 years of experience in the design industry, I am a partner and co-founder of The Critical, a research and design agency that creates solutions for complex challenges by engaging with the context. We work with clients from various sectors, such as culture, education, health, and sustainability, to design new worlds for the better. I am also passionate about advocating for the value and potential of design in society and economy. I hold executive positions in the Lithuanian Design Association and the National Association of Creative and Cultural Industries, where I foster the growth and recognition of the design sector in Lithuania and abroad. I am a member of the Art Directors Club of Europe and the International Council of Design, and I have organized and participated in several high-profile design events in the region. Furthermore, I have contributed to the development of long-term design policies in Lithuania as a former member of the Lithuanian Culture and Arts Council and the Lithuanian Design Council.
