About Ali Akbarpour

As a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Oklahoma, I am conducting comprehensive research to develop guidelines for polymer concrete specifications for ACI NEx. I have also been involved in various projects related to the evaluation of GFRP pipes for slip lining of corrugated steel pipes, CFRP U-Wrap for shear strengthening, and Near Surface Mounting for flexural strengthening of RC beams. Additionally, I have studied the effects of carbon nanotubes on the pull-off strength of polymer concrete overlays and performed ANN and GMDH machine learning methods to predict SWRC parameters for different soil types. In addition to my research work, I have also gained teaching experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Oklahoma, where I conducted hands-on laboratory sessions on material testing and delivered introductory presentations for each lab. I have also worked as a Civil Engineering Professional (CoCom) at PIANC International, where I expanded PIANC's outreach in transitioning nations by developing knowledge transfer tools and organizing regional seminars. I hold a PhD in Structural Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, an MS in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering from Imam Khomeini International University, and a BS in Civil Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University. I am proficient in Python programming and machine learning, and I have certifications in Python for Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp and Machine Learning & Deep Learning in Python & R.
