About Ali Altajir

As a sport scientist and coach, I am passionate about enhancing the performance and well-being of athletes and individuals through evidence-based practice and innovative solutions. I have a B.Sc. in Sport and Exercise Science from Loughborough University, one of the top-ranked institutions in the world for sport-related subjects. I currently work as a Sports Performance Physiologist at the Bahrain Olympic Committee, where I am responsible for the full operations of the Physical Performance Laboratory at the National Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre. I also serve as the Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Basketball First Team Squad at Al Ahli SC, one of the most successful clubs in Bahrain. In both roles, I apply my knowledge and skills in physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, and exercise planning to design, implement, and evaluate programs that optimize the physical and mental health of the athletes and clients. In addition, I am the Head of Public Relations at BASMASS, a non-profit organization that promotes the integration of medicine and sport in Bahrain and the region. I have been selected as a speaker for the inaugural Bahrain Sport Summit 2023, representing the BASMASS delegation and highlighting the significance of establishing training zones. I am a multilingual professional with fluent proficiency in Arabic and English, conversant in Spanish, and I have obtained multiple certifications in coaching, performance, and anti-doping. I am committed to excellence, able to perform well under pressure, and motivated by the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others through sport and exercise science.
