Background
About Ali Azzam
In 2021, I was awarded the Traditional Terry Scholar Foundation Full-ride Scholarship from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in part of the Texas Terry Foundation which allowed me to further allow my studies with UTSA. Throughout my first year at UTSA, I was able to join an accepting community that helps optimize my education to fulfill the needs to become a software developer after I obtain my bachelors in science in Computer Science, which I will be concentrating in Software engineering, data science, and cloud computing, as well as minoring in Cybersecurity. Being a terry scholar and at UTSA expanded my connections that has helped my networking skills to connect with individuals in my industry and join all sorts of organizations. I was born in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and moved to the U.S. when I was seven to El Paso, Texas. I was then raised for seven years in El Paso, where I grew up to learn english and got accustomed to American culture and the hispanic culture as El Paso is dominatly representing hispanic culture as a bordering city next to Mexico. As I moved to San Antonio in 2017, this is where I grew to love the world of technology. As I took a computer science course every year in high school and enriched myself with the capabilities of computer science and the vast world of innovations that this industry has to bring, I knew what I wanted to do for my future. I grew to love solving algorithms, learning more about the complexities about technology, in which our world has solely has been increasingly relying upon, and what the machines that we use so often are made of. Learning new languages in a more tech-centric style, creating and doing projects in relation to almost any idea that one can come up with, and having networking with a community of other future innovators of technology which is why I chose computer science and aspire to be software developer one day and hope to innovate and give back to the community.
