About Ali Drake

As an adolescent mental health counselor, I understand that the working-relationship between a teen and their therapist is at the center of creating progress towards mental health goals. I value my teen client’s perspectives, interests, internal and external motivators, and lived experience. I work from a psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral framework, allowing teens I work with to understand the connection between their lived experience, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I work with my client’s and their families to develop treatment goals that allow for teens to understand their individual mental health needs to develop coping skills and thrive in the ever-changing world around them. When appropriate, I use assessment questionnaires and I will often consult with my supervisor to ensure my clients are receiving the proper course of treatment and interventions that fit their needs. Length of treatment varies, depending on individual and family needs. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring the beautiful nature we have in the PNW, catching up on the latest shows and music, reading, scrolling Tiktok, playing video games, attending live theater and concerts, and honing my cooking skills!
