About Ali Gardiner

A creative audio enthusiast, able to work across a broad range of projects, from daily live radio to more crafted long-form content, and big initiatives like 500 WORDS. Before joining Spiritland Productions, I was employed by BBC Audio. I mainly worked at BBC 6 Music and Radio 2, with an 18-month attachment at Radio 4 Extra developing and presenting a series called Telling Tales. Between 2014-2021, I worked across the schedules at 6 Music at Radio 2, producing Steve Lamacq and Lauren Laverne's daily shows, as well as specialist shows with the likes of Tom Ravenscroft and Cerys Matthews (with whom I also launched a monthly show on the BBC World Service). In my final six months, I produced Sara Cox's teatime show on Radio 2. I also delivered the 500 WORDS story writing competition for Radio 2 in 2014 (with a record-breaking entries and the launch of a new website and database). Outside the BBC, I worked on The Last Bohemians podcast (which won Silver at the British Podcast Awards in 2020).
