About Ali Hodroj

Ali is a doctoral student specializing in the thermal reactivity of bitumen-salt mixes, particularly as presented in the historical bituminous nuclear waste drums. During his studies, he has developed a deep understanding of the complexities associated with fluid dynamics, computational fluid dynamics, multiphase flow, and thermodynamics. His expertise also extends to the thermal degradation of materials and fire modeling. Ali's current research focuses on the modeling of bitumen-salt mixes using the Distributed Activation Energy Model (DAEM). By employing this modeling approach, he aims to enhance our understanding of the burning behavior (ignition, mass loss, heat release, in-depth temperature.) of these mixes and contribute to the safe management of the deep geological storage of such wastes. Ali also possesses extensive experimental expertise in thermal characterization techniques such as Thermogravimetric Analysis, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Differential Thermal Analysis, and cone calorimeter.
