I am a software engineer and national security practitioner with 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, intelligence, and Middle East security across both public and private sectors. My work is driven by the belief that secure systems foster trust, facilitate dialogue, and promote progress in an interconnected world. At Censys, I design and build distributed systems that uncover hidden patterns in vast data streams: tools that ultimately help protect people, communities, and the integrity of our shared digital infrastructure. My journey began in policy, not engineering. As a senior analyst at Bahrain's Prime Minister's Office/ Office of the Crown Prince, I advised on foreign policy and international security matters. Prior to that, I held research roles at CFR, Atlantic Council, and IISS. My analysis has been featured by BBC, Newsweek, and MarketWatch, among other outlets. At Georgetown, I realized that the foreign policy challenges of the 21st century cannot be understood with the methods of the 20th. That realization led me to pursue software engineering — a discipline I came to love for its intellectual rigor — to build the tools I once wished I had as an analyst, at a moment when technology itself had become a central geopolitical fault line. My goal is to bridge these worlds: making complex technical indicators intelligible and actionable for policymakers, while continuing to build the systems that underpin global trust and security.
