About Ali Salmande

Mr Ali Salmande is a university lecturer at STIA Banten. He is also a partner and co-founder of Rijnkade Law Office. Prior to that, he was an editor for the online media that focuses on legal and law reform issues in Jakarta, Indonesia. He started his work at Hukumonline in 2007. In 2007, Mr Ali Salmande graduated summa cum laude from the Faculty of Law Universitas Trisakti, majoring in Constitutional and Administrative Law. He obtained a Community College Initiative Program Scholarship (funded by the US Department of State) to study journalism at Everett Community College (EvCC), Washington State, United States in the period of 2012-2013. Mr. Ali Salmande also joined various courses in and outside Indonesia, such as,(1) Strengthening Your Journalism and Use of Data in the Digital Age, in August-October 2013 (online course, organized by Poynter Institute and European Journalism Center);(2) Inside International Justice in The Hague, Netherlands, November 2013 (organized by Asser Institute and Radio Netherlands Training Center);(3) Community Journalism (online course, which held by Cardiff University). He also participated in Facilitator Basic Training by Soliya Organization (Dialogue between the West and the East) in 2013. Mr. Ali Salmande took his Master of law in European Law at Leiden University, through the StuNed Scholarship Program, funded by Netherlands Government.
