About Ali Yuen

I'm an economist turned data scientist with 10 years of experience working on complex, data-intensive problems in commercial litigation and regulatory matters. I work across a variety of industries including healthcare, tech, higher education, media, and others—analyzing large datasets, building custom workflows, writing code, and managing people and processes. My work combines fluency in R, SQL, and Stata with the ability to navigate messy data and open-ended analytical questions. I lead Data Science Learning at my firm, where I design and run technical training programs for consultants—from foundational coding workshops to applied sessions that reflect real project work. While many of these programs scale firmwide, I also run more hands-on initiatives, like an LLM-focused curriculum developed for a small, diverse cohort spanning different experience levels and topical interest areas. I'm particularly interested in how people learn technical skills, how firms build shared knowledge, and how to structure quantitative work so that it's clear, reproducible, and holds up under scrutiny.
