About Alia Berry

Alia Berry MSW LSW, a licensed community-based social worker, has +20 years experience serving ages 0-60 years old in a variety of settings from daycares to group homes to correctional facilities. Her experience is well rounded and vast as a former special education teacher, former school leader, clinician and mentor. At this point in her career, she is focusing on trauma-informed, healing centered community violence intervention with individuals before, during and after incarceration. As a program developer and capacity building strategist, when Alia gets to the planning table, she brings a macro level skill set with the community’s micro-level needs in mind as she continues to keep the pulse on the people through graduations and baby showers but also unfortunately at funerals and sentencing hearings.goal setting on the block and hugs at a red light; crisis interventionist and sidewalk case manager. Formalizing ideas/visions and organic processes to ensure the effectiveness of programs and collect data that helps shape strategy is a strength of hers. Alia has a history in leadership roles where she built innovative, evidence-based programming, trained service providers for implementation and designed systems for sustainability. During the pandemic, she designed several virtual frameworks to support organizations in meeting their expected client related outcomes. Alia currently works full time as Principal Consultant of Seeds & Berries offering national capacity building strategy and training program and direct clinical services in schools, nonprofits and the government sector.
