Background

About Alia Beyer

I graduated from Oregon State University in June of 2011 with a BA in Chemistry and a Spanish minor where I geared my education toward analytical chemistry and toxicology. In my technical career, I gained experience with environmental sampling, in-lab instrumentation and analysis, hazardous materials policies and regulations. In 2014, I hiked border-to-border on the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail between Mexico and Canada. In preparation for and during my 5-month journey, I gained many skills in logistics planning, research, physical endurance, and teamwork in extreme conditions. This journey changed my life and the direction of my career and interests. Currently, I am a certified yoga instructor and own my own yoga business, Bhakti Earth Yoga in Prineville, OR. I am pursuing graduate study to become a professional licensed counselor to be able to merge my passions for mental health and wellness with somatic therapies, such as yoga, for trauma healing and working with people affected by PTSD. Other areas of involvement include social activism, politics, grassroots organizing, ranching, print media, radio and other audio media, performing arts, and jewelry design.
