About Alice Black
I am the Clinical Research Manager for the Division of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. I am a certified clinical research professional with 15 years of oncology research experience. I have worked across virtually every oncological disease site and the was the lead national coordinator on an investigator initiated, phase I CAR-T study dedicated to expanding access to this potentially life-saving therapy to Canadians. In my present role, I manage all studies in the Division of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Expanding access to paradigm changing research is a core goal. I have given local and national presentations on the running of CAR-T trials and am also a published author. I currently lead presentations regarding challenges and barriers to enrollment in cardiac surgery studies. I am also a strong proponent for health care in underserved/rural settings.
