Dr. Alice M. Hammel is a widely known music educator, author, and clinician whose experience in music is extraordinarily diverse. She is currently affiliated with James Madison and Virginia Commonwealth Universities and has a large private studio in Richmond, VA. Dr. Hammel is also the Autism Spectrum Disorder Music Intervention Specialist for ASSET. She is a co-author of two resources available through Oxford University Press: Teaching Music to Students with Special Needs: A Label-Free Approach and Teaching Music to Students with Autism. Dr. Hammel serves as the Musicianship Teacher for the Kodály Levels Courses at Midwestern State University and for the American Kodály Institute at Loyola University.
