About Alicia Grund

My name is Alicia Grund. I graduated from homeschooling in 2005. After graduating, I traveled around the US exploring life, then life led me back home, to MI. As of 2011, I started attending college at KVCC, in their art and new media program, double majoring in graphic design and illustration. I got my first associates degree in graphic design and and an working on my second in illustration at KVCC. After I plan to transfer to a four year university, to get my bachelors degree in illustration. I was not always a traditional artist but I always had a creative mind. Since age 8 or 9 I was designing clothes, writing short stories, poems, songs, and working on computers. I didn't start seeing my talent for traditional art until 2009, when I began drawing my emotions as a release from anxiety and personal stresses. That's when I discovered art, as my life, and wanted to have a career conveying messages, and emotions, through visual communication. I have a deep appreciation for surrealism, constructivist and dark art styles. I love doing work that makes people think, tells them a story, and leaves them with a question. I enjoys traditional and digital media, and a mixture of the two.
