About Alicia Rix

I’m a credentialed educator with a Master of Arts in Teaching from San Jose State University and a strong foundation in both Social Studies and English instruction. With hands-on experience teaching middle school ELA, ELD, and social studies, I bring a student-focused, inclusive approach to the classroom—one that emphasizes engagement, critical thinking, and cross-curricular learning.Currently completing my Single Subject Credential in English, I’ve taught 7th and 8th-grade students in both general and specialized programs, including ELD courses designed to help students succeed on the ELPAC. I’ve also contributed to school-wide initiatives like project-based learning, and both mentor teachers and administrators have consistently evaluated my performance. My previous roles as a substitute teacher, academic aid, and art coach have strengthened my adaptability, classroom management skills, and ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. I’m now seeking a full-time teaching position where I can bring my energy, creativity, and strong communication skills to a collaborative and mission-driven school community.
