About Alida Pelser

I am a qualified management accountant (CIMA - ACMA,CGMA) with extensive experience of the financial and management accounting processes, with responsibility and oversight of all elements from budget to audit. The experience of the accounting profession that I have gained, coupled with an acute commercial awareness and strong technical skill-set, mean that I have consistently been able to identify improvements to both processes and systems. These improvements have helped ensure that the functions I have performed added significant value from both an efficiency as well as a corporate bottom-line and cash-flow perspective. A proficiency at learning and understanding new processes and systems fast, along with my ability to work to tight deadlines, has allowed me to add value quickly in new roles and projects across the industries I have worked in, including the retail consumer goods (FMCG), construction, property and, most recently recruitment. My experience encompasses the full accounting business cycle including budgeting, preparation of 'actual vs. budgeted' reporting as well as variance analysis, trial balance / profit and loss statements, balance sheet compilation / reporting and the full year-end final audit process. Strong knowledge and experience of these technical competencies have allowed me improve cash flow and profitability of the firms I have worked for through waste reduction and improved planning. I have experience of various accounting packages including Xero, Propman, QUBE and Pastel (Sage) as well as the requisite experience of reporting from, manipulating data with and controlling information in Microsoft Excel.
