About Aliena Trefny
I am a recent graduate from my Master of Law at the Universities of Zurich and Lausanne, Switzerland, with a strong interest in international law, in particular the fields of migration and refugee, human rights, environmental and economic law. For 5 years, I have been active in the European Law Students' Association (ELSA). From August 2024 to July 2025, I was based in Brussels as a part of the International Board of ELSA. As the Vice President in charge of Competitions, I was the Head of the Organising Committee of two important international academic competitions (moot courts), organised in cooperation with the Council of Europe, the World Trade Organization, and large law firms. Through these experiences, I have acquired strong project management, communication and teamwork skills within a network of members from 41 countries, and beyond. I am highly interested in international collaboration and enjoy meeting students and professionals across the globe.
