About Alif Mohammad

I am working as a Development Engineer at Olink Proteomics in their Research and Development (R&D) department. Olink is a Swedish multinational biotech company focused on proteins and biomarkers discovery by using a high throughput multiplex technology called Proximity Extension Assay (PEA). In R&D, I am a part of the Analytical Development team, where my responsibility is to develop and optimise the QC methods of Olink’s various products based on PEA. I joined Olink back in 2021 as a Lab Engineer, in the Analysis Service (AS) department and used to work in their next-generation sequencing lab (AS Explore) before moving to R&D in 2023. Previously, I received a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology with Cum Laude distinction from North South University, Bangladesh. After that, I pursued a Master's degree in Infection Biology at Uppsala University, Sweden. During my Master's thesis, I worked as a postgraduate student researcher in a lab in the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology (IMBIM), Uppsala University. My Master's thesis project was on bacterial pathogenesis focused on T3SS regulation in Yersinia. I am particularly interested in proteins and biomarker identification and discovery, development and optimisation of various molecular technologies, quality control process in biotech and pharmaceutical industries, as well as molecular studies of infectious diseases.
