Alisha Davis is a five-time Emmy Award-winning journalist with an extensive background in print and broadcast television whose reporting has spanned the globe from Haiti after the earthquake to the Oscars red carpet. She has worked at ABC News as a freelance anchor/contributor as well as serving as a writer/producer at the network’s top rated morning news program “Good Morning America” for more than a decade. She has also worked as a correspondent for Court TV's entertainment news program "Hollywood Heat" and as a news correspondent for MTV News, where she covered everything from music and movies to Hurricane Katrina and President Bush. Before joining MTV News, she served as the co-anchor of the half-hour daily news entertainment program,"E! News Live" for E! Entertainment Television and as prime-time entertainment anchor for CNN Headline News. She has also served as a reporter and editor for Newsweek Magazine. Davis has appeared as a guest journalist/commentator on CNN International, MSNBC, Fox News Channel, AMC, Oxygen, and America's Black Forum. She has also made guest acting appearances playing a journalist on HBO's "The Sopranos” and the ABC sitcom “Hope and Faith.” In addition, Davis was featured as a journalist in a national print advertising campaign that appeared in more than two dozen top magazines including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly. She has been written about in numerous publications including the New York Times, US Weekly, Ebony, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, to name just a few. She has also served as a celebrity judge for the "Miss Teen USA Pageant," which was broadcast in more than 70 countries including NBC in the US. A graduate of Harvard University, Davis has served on the board of the non-profit arts organization “The Civilians.” She participated in the inaugural Marie Claire "It's Time to Talk" Anti-Domestic Abuse Campaign alongside other media figures like Maria Bartiromo and Wendy Williams. She served as a co-chair of a Big Brother/Big Sister Charity Masquerade Ball held in Los Angeles, and has mentored children directly as a Big Sister herself. She has also volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club, and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
