As a Purchasing Manager at Defiance Boats, I have been optimizing the procurement and inventory management processes for the maritime industry for over five years. I have a proven track record of locating new vendors, negotiating favorable terms and pricing, overseeing the issuance of program materials, and evaluating proposals to secure low-cost inventory and reduce company expenses. I have also developed and implemented new procedures for improving inventory control and reducing time required locating parts by modifying part numbers and locations. In addition to my purchasing skills, I also have a strong background in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management, which I gained from my previous role as an EHS Specialist at SAFE Boats International. There, I eliminated dangerous behaviors, optimized new employee training, developed recommendations to reduce hazards, and collected samples for testing.
