I currently hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, and I am also a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN). I have been practicing in the field of addiction nursing for the past 9 years, functioning as a part of a multidisciplinary team within an in-patient drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility, providing care to clients with dual diagnoses. Within this time, I have been deemed a reliable individual, with the ability to work well without supervision, thus I have been selected to deputize in the absence of the nursing supervisor. In my present role as a registered nurse at Crossroads Centre Antigua, my job description entails monitoring clients with regards to medical complaints and problems, initiating medical care and detoxification under the direction of the physician, and the education of clients regarding healthy lifestyles and alternatives.
