About Alison Baker

Currently, I am a Financial Analyst supporting the Legal and Corporate Services and Stakeholder and Industry Relation teams at NAV Canada. My current responsibilities including month-end close, financial reporting, budget and forecasting, Miscellaneous Revenue for software licensing and Aeronautical Publications and CAPEX related activities. Recently I assumed responsibility for revenue analysis and recognition for Technology Sales. I also provided training and support to my clients on various internal applications. In a secondary role I am a Champion as NAV Canada transitions to Office 365 and Windows 10. Previous to my current role, I held the positions of Internal Control Analyst and Financial Analyst supporting the Technical Operations division. My responsibilities in Internal Control included the testing of controls and processes for the Corporate Reporting team, the CAPEX program, Accounts Payable team, Pensions and Pension Investments and Supply Chain. My responsibilities as Financial Analyst for NAV Canada supporting Technical Operations Division, included month-end closing activities, project analysis, financial reporting, budget and forecasting, revenue analysis and quarterly capital reporting. This included providing training and support to project managers in the use of the various applications. My volunteer experience includes more than 12 years as an Executive Board member of a large non-profit organization. I have had the opportunity to judge for the Dalhousie Business Ethics Case Competition and the Management Case for the Sprott Telfer Accounting Competition. Specialties: financial accounting, change management, strategic planning, process improvement and problem solving.
