About Alison Dooney

I am a Physics Technology (BSc Hons) Graduate of Technological University Dublin. My academic journey has allowed me to build a strong foundation in research and laboratory work, culminating in a second-class honours degree in my previous course of Environmental and Industrial Physics BSc (Ord). During my academic journey, I've had the opportunity to work on a variety of intriguing projects. My Final Year Project 2024 involved harnessing machine learning techniques to classify PDX tissue samples. Additionally, During my recent 7-month internship in 2023 with Xenics, an Infrared Device Manufacturing company, I had the privilege of introducing a Nanotronics Optical Inspection system to their production line. This experience was both fascinating and enlightening, and it was a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the company's operations as well as improve my troubleshooting skills in hardware and software. I've had the pleasure of working on hands-on experiments, including the design and construction of apparatus for the Doppler Pendulum experiment during my degree. These experiences have enhanced my problem-solving abilities and deepened my passion for physics. My enthusiasm for physics is paralleled by my eagerness to tackle new challenges and collaborate effectively within teams. I find immense satisfaction in taking on additional responsibilities and continually expanding my skill set. I am excited about the prospect of connecting with fellow professionals in the field and exploring opportunities to contribute to innovative projects and advancements in the world of physics and technology.
