About Alison Dowrick

I am a confident professional with, three years Operations and Marketing Managerial Experience for a Quantity Surveyor, including a Purchasing and Sales remit, more than ten years of valued experience in the Electronics Industry involving extensive communication with procurement. I have also spent six years working in a secondary school environment, Oakwood School, Horley, saving considerable school funds through careful procurement of resources whilst also making successful funding applications. My growth of experience has enabled me to have the confidence to be entrepreneurial in setting up my own business, Your Precious Baby, which ran for about seven years alongside sub-contracting my skills to a local Quantity Surveying Firm.My work for AML Southern Ltd, Quantity Surveying and Project Management Firm has been varied, but mainly involved the Operations, Sale and Marketing Functions for this business. I was instrumental in seeing the firm through gaining their first set of ISO Accreditations as well as Construction Line and CHAS Accreditations. Last year I passed the APM PMQ Project Management Qualification which helped them considerably when looking at the requirements of PQQs and Other Tender Documents. I carried out some of the purchasing requirements for AML Southern Ltd, looking at ways in which they could save money, whilst ensuring they got the product or resource that met their needs. I spent quite a lot of time in a sales and marketing function investigating and contacting potential clients, nurturing present clients and attend networking meetings or exhibitions when I could. Being heavily involved with writing policies, procedures and risk assessments, I was also the key team member for carrying out New Team Member Inductions.
