Have you ever had a coach? It’s life changing. As a coach, I help Start-Up Founders wrap their head around managing a team, and offer coaching in best-practice management for both new and existing managers who are looking to ease the stress of managing people and have an increased sense of clarity and satisfaction at work. For me, there’s nothing better than seeing new managers more confident and satisfied with their performance, and feeling as though they’re actually making a difference to their staff’s lives. Years ago, I became a coach and had a small health coaching practice. I loved it, my clients saw awesome results and it solidified coaching for me as a career. However, I was also working in IT at the time, alongside the CIO of a company. And over the course of this time, a few things became clear to me- Managers have very few people around them they can safely talk honestly with and use as a sounding board - New managers rarely, if ever get training or help with how to manage employees - Cultural issues begin with the leadership team and flow downwards - Effective leaders have high levels of emotional intelligence (refer to the tonnes of recent research showing this) So, I upskilled in Leadership Coaching and changed course entirely, re-focusing on the thing that I became most passionate about – helping people become great managers, so they can in turn create great teams and a better environment for everyone to work in, where everyone wins.
