About Alison Hall

My career journey into software development began during the pandemic while I was teaching 6th grade orchestra classes. During this time I began researching software to help teach music online and ended up designing a student portal so that the material could still be engaging and interactive for my students. When I started teaching myself to program with JavaScript I found that I loved the creativity and logic involved with programming and realized that many of the same skills of persistence and practice that are required to learn a musical instrument lend themselves to learning new programming languages. I switched to software sales working with accounts in the financial, healthcare and insurance sectors and had the opportunity to learn about a wide range of applications and interesting problems that engineering teams were trying to solve for across these industries. These experiences inspired me to enroll in a Java coding bootcamp in order to pursue a role as a junior developer. I’ve applied these skills to my current role at Sacred Ohms where I work on backend and front end features for a rental property website. I enjoy collaborating, learning from others and building connections. Feel free to reach out!
