About Alison Hanson

I am an associate veterinarian at Banfield Pet Hospital in Wilmington, NC. In my 23 years of practice, I have gained extensive experience in preventive medicine, internal medicine, dermatology, surgery, dentistry, hospice care, and client education. My appreciation for our profession grows every day. I am honored, to get to work alongside courageous, optimistic, and diligent individuals every day, and I’m always inspired by the animals and people we serve. I earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, and a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist credential from Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. The ability to combine both Western and Eastern modalities allows me to treat a variety of conditions and enhance the well-being of my patients. I also have a background in fine arts and hospitality, which enables me to connect with a wide variety of clients and approach medical challenges with multi-perspective thinking and creativity.
