About Alison K. MacChi

First and foremost, I am a passionate Registered and licensed Dietitian with experience in health behavior change strategies and specializing in diabetes education and medical devices. I have educated and counseled a range of communities including children, adolescents, and diverse ethnicities and races. I am also an accomplished academic and higher education professional. With a PhD in Nutrition Education from Florida International University, I am passionate about teaching, mentoring, and fostering growth in the dietetics field. I am experienced in working with research trials, program coordination, nutrition intervention development and implementation, IRB protocols, data collection and analysis, and publishing. My background in research and start-ups has amplified my skills in troubleshooting, flexibility, and pro-activity. As an individual, I bring passion, creativity, drive, and autonomy to my workplace. Skills and awards include bilingual in English and Spanish, NIH and CITI Research certified, ServSafe certified, as well as the recipient of multiple fellowships and scholarships including the McKnight Dissertation Award, CV Starr Fellowship, and Stempel Travel Scholarship.
