About Alison Keane
Alison is a Brisbane clinical psychotherapist (reg PACFA) and mindfulness educator. She facilitated the research-evidenced eight-week group programme Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for 12 years between 2008 and 2019 after training under the direction of Professor Emeritus of Medicine, Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn in California in 2007. Alison's work experience includes workplace mindfulness workshops and training around Australia. Alison is a former documentary producer (Cutting Edge Productions), television journalist (ABC, Brisbane & Melbourne) and continues freelance writing. In 2010 her MBSR course was featured in the award-winning SBS TV documentary, The Silent Epidemic. The programme drew national attention to the positive neurological changes following eight weeks of daily mindfulness practices in the life of a young woman with a history of self-harm.
