My path to becoming an optometrist is fueled by a passion for healthcare, education, and making a real difference in people's lives. My UCLA Biology degree (3.7 GPA!), with classes like microbiology and biochemistry, gave me a deep understanding of health and the complexities of vision. At U See LA Optometry, I wasn't just an Optometric Technician – I helped people from all walks of life understand their eye care and treatment. This role honed my communication skills and gave me hands-on experience with equipment and protocols – invaluable for my role in healthcare. My love for explaining things extends beyond the clinic. Tutoring biology students has been incredibly rewarding. It's all about making complex subjects clear and engaging. Teaching English also taught me valuable soft skills like empathy, patience, and communication – all essential for top-notch patient care. Optometry school is next! I'm excited to combine my education and healthcare experience to excel in this field. My ultimate goal? To reach a diverse range of patients, offering compassionate, personalized care that improves my patients' quality of life.
