About Alison MacGregor

I've never met a dog that could read a clock, but anyone who owns a dog can confirm that they always seem to know when its walk time! I am an out-of-the-box thinker, slightly obsessive animal enthusiast, and passionate business owner. When I’m not on the job, you can find me unplugging on weekend camping trips in the beautiful backcountry of BC, trying new foods, spending time outdoors with my two pups, and indulging my love for visiting new countries. My mind is both creative and analytical, which provides me with the ability to execute innovative ideas, while considering any potential implications to evaluate their efficacy. I have a demonstrated history of success working in the consumer services industry, and possess expertise in animal behaviour and training, business management, client relations, photography, graphic design, musical composition, musical theory and performance. I have always been intrigued by the inner workings of the mind and the motivations behind human and animal behaviour. After many years of hard work, dedication, and cumulative animal care experience, Van Island Pups - Dog Walking and Pet Sitting was born. My innate desire for creativity and continual learning, along with my educational background in psychology and neurobiology has given me the knowledge base to turn my love for animal care into a highly rewarding career. Van Island Pups is a licensed, bonded and insured professional pet care company, specializing in providing safe, reliable and fun pet care services for the furry elite of Victoria, BC!
