About Alison Motion
Being outdoors has been my career. I am now an STGA Blue Badge Guide, qualified to guide all over Scotland. My previous careers as a teacher, educator, play professional, food and farming educator, and on the management team of the organisations that I have been lucky enough to work with, have all fed into my new (and yet old) direction of tourist guiding, taking people out to see Scotland. I first guided as a volunteer at the Tenement House in Glasgow, which seemed an obvious thing to do after a degree in Cultural History. Various steps along the way have led me to here. I am particularly interested in the wider benefits of people of all ages getting outdoors as part of the day to day promotion of better health and mental wellbeing.
