Background
About Alison Skipper
Vet with a background in general practice and a PhD in the history of breed-related disease in pedigree dogs. After a postdoctoral research project at the RVC, analysing canine health research funding in the U.K, I moved to The Kennel Club, bringing an unusual combination of veterinary, humanities, academic and practical skills and experience. I believe that we need ethical dog breeders who strive to produce healthy companion animals, and I use my expertise in the human factors that influence this sector to reduce barriers and improve communication between stakeholder groups, to contribute to new health provision, to support breeders and to produce new research.
