About Alissa Mann

I am a freelance project manager in both the translation and digital health industries, also offering translation services from German into English. Primarily working in Digital Health for CHIME UK, I coordinate CHIME UK's impactful education programmes which nurture the UK's emerging digital health leaders. My role includes event management for residential training; management of CHIME UK's developing projects; and building and managing CHIME UK's membership system. As a translator (DE>EN), it's important to me that a translated text sounds completely natural in the target language, and that subtextual content and context are appropriately adapted. Making sure the nuances, humour and emotion of a piece is essential in order to truly connect with an international audience, regardless of the source. In my capacity as a translation project manager, I oversee a smooth project flow and ensure the final product is of the highest quality, with meticulous attention to detail. ‍ I graduated with first-class honours from the University of Sheffield in 2021, specialising in German, Russian and Dutch. I studied the history, art and culture of the countries where these languages are spoken, as well as intercultural communication and languages in business. I'm passionate about using my skills to connect and collaborate with others across borders. Having worked and studied across Germany, Austria, and Russia, I am quick to adapt and respond to a variety of cultural environments. Across roles in teaching, hospitality, and care I particularly enjoyed connecting with the people I met; listening, engaging, and building new relationships.
