About Alissa Mayer

I am a foot and ankle surgical fellow at CHI Franciscan Health Advanced Foot & Ankle Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship under the direction of Byron Hutchinson, DPM and Stacee Kessinger, MD. A distinct quality of my fellowship training is that I am a hospital-based, teaching physician in a residency program and simultaneously training in an orthopedic group. Several key areas of focus include foot and ankle trauma, complex deformity correction, Charcot reconstruction, revision surgery, forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction, and limb salvage. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, watching the Chicago Cubs and eating deep dish pizza. I moved to warmer weather and attended University of Miami for my undergraduate studies. I completed my medical training at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, before moving to the Washington DC area for my surgical residency at Medstar Georgetown University I am both a cat and a dog person. On Sundays, you can find me watching football and eating wings.
